Well, here it is, our last blog for 2018. It’s hard to believe it’s nearly Christmas. This time last year Sonya and I had just launched the Beginner’s Course for TranscribeRight and were planning for the next two modules and how to grow our team at Top Team Transcripts. Looking back over 2018, there have been many highlights and lots of blessings: some new clients; new team members; the launch of the Intermediate Course at Easter; followed by the Advanced course this month, and the award of the first Daisy Scholarship*. But without doubt, the biggest highlight for us this year (and best ever present) came from a little 7-year-old girl.
December 1st saw the award of the inaugural Daisy Scholarship. Out of all the applicants, one lady was a stand out for us. As the Daisy Scholarship is in memory of our mothers, it was wonderful that this first award happened to go to a mother of two. The winner, Corinna V, from Pennsylvania, has a step-daughter and an adopted daughter and has wanted to get started in the industry for a while, but was unable to find a course that was both affordable and comprehensive enough to give her all the tools she’d need to succeed. We could see from Corinna’s letter and CV that she has the drive and determination to work for herself and also an entrepreneurial spark. Corinna has told us that when she read our email notifying her that she was the 2018 recipient of the Daisy Scholarship, she literally jumped out of her chair! The greatest delight for us has been receiving this message from Corinna, together with a video from her daughter:
A big shout out and special thank you to Claire Hone and Sonya Rawlings. Today I received my foot pedal and headphones as a part of their Daisy Scholarship program to the TranscribeRight Course. I started last night and before I knew it 3:00 AM had rolled around. I’m enjoying it so far. My 7-year-old was intrigued with the new items. After I explained the reason and award she wanted to say thank you. This is her video. I echo her sentiment and the hugs and kisses too. Note: She has special needs and took her brace off to make the video. That’s why she’s leaning a bit at the end. ❤️ 🤗 😘

It was, without doubt, the most heart-warming message we have ever received and it moved us beyond words. It is truly an example of the more you give, the more you get back. So, at this very special time of year, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful, and prosperous 2019.
