Your clients are your VIPs and, together with your team, your biggest asset. It sounds like a no-brainer, right? Without your clients, you have no business. However, it’s amazing how many businesses “set and forget,” assuming that their clients will always be there and not move on if they don’t feel valued, or don’t feel they are getting great service.
Sonya and I were lucky enough to get to meet one of our special clients last week when she flew down to Melbourne. We wanted to have a quick meeting and touch base to see that they were still happy with our services two years on, and to see whether there was anything on a wish-list that they wanted, because it was probably something we could easily do. Happily, they were, there was and we could!
Checking regularly with your clients just to make sure that everything is travelling smoothly takes only a little time and confirms that everyone is happy and on the same page. It’s good to let clients know that nothing is set in stone and, just because their template looks like this today, doesn’t mean it has to stay that way if they have changed or grown beyond it.
Happy clients will recommend your business to others. Happy clients will take you with them as they grow. Happy clients mean a lovely working relationship.
So make sure that at least once or twice a year you give them a call and ask if there’s anything that you can do to make life easier for them, or anything they would like to change, it will pay dividends down the track. It’s far easier to keep an existing client than tracking down new ones. Existing clients are your business VIPs, make sure they feel as treasured as they deserve.
Happy transcribing!
